PLEAAAAASE HEEEEEEEEELPPp!!!!!!?

I had windows Vista installed on my computer.I wanted to install XP, on my first try I didn%26#039;t write down the serial key, so when installing, it created a boot partition. after that I couldn%26#039;t boot to my vista. Now I%26#039;m on XP and i want to go back to vista, but I don%26#039;t know how to change boot options.

I tried %26quot;msconfig%26quot; to go to boot.ini, but that%26#039;s not there...

what can I do to change boot option?

is there any other way or I must give up and format?

THANK YOU|||Boot from your VIsta DVD and select the repair option. If it doesn%26#039;t find anything that it can fix it will give you the option to open a comand prompt.

1. Use Bootsect.exe to restore the Windows Vista MBR and the boot code that transfers control to the Windows Boot Manager program. To do this, type the following command at a command prompt: Drive:\boot\Bootsect.exe /NT60 All

In this command, Drive is the drive where the Windows Vista installation media is located.

Note The boot folder for this step is on the DVD drive.

2. Use Bcdedit.exe to manually create an entry in the BCD Boot.ini file for the earlier version of the Windows operating system. To do this, type the following commands at a command prompt.

Note In these commands, Drive is the drive where Windows Vista is installed.

鈥?Drive:\Windows\system32\Bcdedit /create {ntldr} 鈥揹 %26quot;Description for earlier Windows version%26quot;

Note In this command, Description for earlier Windows version can be any text that you want. For example, Description for earlier Windows version can be %26quot;Windows XP%26quot; or %26quot;Windows Server 2003%26quot;.

鈥?Drive:\Windows\system32\Bcdedit /set {ntldr} device partition=x:

Note In this command, x: is the drive letter for the active partition.

鈥?Drive:\Windows\system32\Bcdedit /set {ntldr} path \ntldr

鈥?Drive:\Windows\system32\Bcdedit /displayorder {ntldr} 鈥揳ddlast

3. Restart the computer.|||Install a new bootloader.|||Vista must use the primary partition.
